HOUSE-BIRTHDAY-PARTY 101

Like I said here, Miko, Arnold and I celebrated our birthday together. Miko might've already celebrated his birthday (link) but who said you only get to celebrate once?! I'm sure I didn't, heck, I used the birthday card all week. :) This was from last January 15 when we changed our yearly celebration to something more intimate - just the college group. Instead of my usual pictures spam, I'd like to share with you something I call:

House-Birthday-Party 101

(or 20 helpful tips in celebrating your birthday at home)

Tip No. 1: Throw a joint celebration with friends born on the same month. We've been doing it for three years now :)

Tip No. 2: It isn't called a house party for nothing, find a house accessible to all. If you're using a friend's house, give him "house privileges" which are pretty much the same as "birthday privileges" (ie: skip a shot, give a shot to someone, and the like)

Tip No. 3: Wear something comfy! In my case, I opted for this leopard print Topshop shirt dress

Tip No. 4: Make sure you have the "birthday spirit". If you don't have it yet, buy yourself a present or two

Tip No. 5: Get someone who normally doesn't attend to attend (plus points if you get her to stay, haha, hi Bix!)

Tip No. 6: Stock up on food and drinks

Tip No. 7: If your co-organizers permit, invite a couple of other friends who get along with your guests

Tip No. 8: Persuade your boyfriend to stay longer than he originally planned

Tip No. 9: In case person referred to in Tip No. 5 wants to leave early, have a plan to stall her. We literally had 2 people stand in her way

Tip No. 10: Play games! (and make sure you're ready to capture those silly alcohol induced moments)

Tip No. 11: Focus in said game to avoid having to take unnecessary shots

Tip No. 12: Take a picture in honor of a friend who isn't there (hi Ka-te!)

Tip No. 13: Take pictures of those on the verge of drunkenness, it's a good souvenir 

Tip No. 14: Be cautious of all food and drink given to you in the latter part of the evening. That friend might be already drunk or wants you to get drunk or wants to take advantage of your drunkenness (which is often funny if you aren't the victim, haha)

Tip No. 15: Get yourself a new camera if you don't want your pictures as blurry as this

Tip No. 16: It's okay to reminisce about the good ol' days just as long as you promise to make plans for the good ol' tomorrows (Canyon Cove + Pepe Lopez Round 2 SOON!)

Tip No. 17: Speaking of planning, make sure you invite friends not on the last minute. This girl right here did that resulting to 2 of her fav college girlfriends not being able to go :(

Tip No. 18: Look cute at all times, you never know when someone's snapping your picture

Tip No. 19: Don't be killjoy

Tip No. 20: HAVE FUN!!!

It's really cool that there are three of us in our barkada (group of friends) who were born in January. It makes gathering people easier and it makes our celebrations 3x the fun (haha, lame, sorry!). I'm looking forward to next year's bash! :)
