THE NATIONAL GALLERY LONDON

Personally coming face to face with works of masters has been such a high for me. You mean to say that here, right in front of my very nose, is the original of the countless reproductions plastered on everything from notebooks to pillow cases to watches?!! AAAAH! It’s amazing because you have something that lasted for almost a century, and you somewhat get this feeling of connectedness to a person long gone, to a time long gone. It really does give you a sense of wonder.

If you want to experience the wonder and beauty that is fine art, a must for your London trip is a visit to the National Gallery. There’s no excuse since it’s conveniently located in Trafalgar Square and admission is free. Yup, it’s FREE. So if you’re in the area, I highly suggest you pop in and say hi to great works.

Below is a series of photos that I snapped from my visit last 2015. Mostly impressionism because it’s my favorite art movement and because I learned my lesson from trying to cover all of New York’s Metropolitan Museum – you won’t be able to cover every inch so set your priorities. If impressionism isn’t your thing, I’m sure there’ll be something to suit your taste. I even have some classical works featured below because of how freakishly realistic it looks – it looks like it was printed not painted. Check out their website for further reading.
