CHANGI AND THE CHUNKY HEEL

One of things I am so in awe about living in Singapore is the Changi Airport. It really is in a class of its own. It's clean, efficient, has great amenities and a lot of dining and retail choices. I haven't been to all airports but from my experience, nothing comes close to Changi (we can debate about it below if you want, haha!). My 27-year old self isn't much different from my 16-year old self in terms of amazement by it. She was sooo psyched about the internet kiosks (*click* to read proof). Hehe!

Today, not only do I work at Changi Airport (cargo, but still, haha), it's also become part of my non-working hours. Due to its proximity to work, the passenger terminal has been an after-work dinner spot with Luke too. Staff pass, for the win! Hehe! Above photos from one such after-work date when my boyfriend confirmed his non-appreciation for my current favorite pair of shoes. His comment that "the heel is so chunky and it's not sexy at all" started a game of "so you mean to say those crocs are sexier than my shoes?!" or "what about those wedged moccasins?". I was determined for him to admit that my shoes weren't as bad as he deems it to be, but to no avail. He finds it unattractive and not even a tinge sexy. So I pulled out the clincher, "so even if this amazingly hot girl *points to self, haha!* is wearing it, it's still not sexy?" His response? "I don't like it, but I never complained". Fair enough.

The truth is, who needs a guy's fashion approval, anyway? I just like teasing him (and just teasing people in general. I do it out of love, promise!). I dress to please myself. Getting external validation is nice, but the satisfaction of letting my style, my choices, be out front and center is just as swell. Sure, I admit, the shoe may not be particularly as sexy as a stiletto, but I love it and I really feel good wearing it. And isn't feeling good about yourself the ultimate definition of sexy? ;)

And oh, a closer look at the shoes in question:-

It's not bad, right?!?! Hahaha!

Ever had you and your significant other - or others, in general - not look eye to eye at certain trends or pieces of clothing? Ever fallen in love with an airport? Share your stories below and have a good weekend ahead!

  2. I live near the airport, and I admire the beauty of it. Especially that it's going in a renovation this year, I've a lot to look forward to! :) Also, you really dress nicely. I usually don't ask my boyfriend for opinions because, let's face it, some of them can be pretty critical that their reasoning sometimes cracks me up. Haha!

    1. Hi Mimi! So exciting that they're going under renovation! I think I overheard the duty free people meeting over blue prints the last time I was there, tsismosa, hehe! :) But yes, sometimes their reasoning can be so funny!! I love how they describe fashion, like here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwXQYq5Up6w hahahaha :)

  3. I think Changi airport has become one of the best airports, right, if I'm not mistaken hehe
I haven't been to any other countries yet so I can't compare, but based on what I read, NAIA's worst!

I like asking for my boyfriend's opinion with my clothes, but whenever he disagrees, I also get a little grumpy haha and I reason out, "but I love this", he'll just say "sige na nga bahala ka" hahaha He'll say okay once he sees me satisfied and happy with what I have haha

    1. It is!! Service, facilities, shops, food choices - it's the best!! People say Hong Kong is good but I've always had bad experience with the airport staff so even if it's huge and the shops are good, ang sungit talaga nila!!! :| Haha!

At the end of the day, it's the person naman they love so even if they don't agree with us on certain pieces, all's good! As long as they don't force us to dress a certain way - that's a totally different story!
