TOP 3 FAVORITE PAUL RUDD ROLES
A couple of nights ago, I watched Ant-Man. Like what I said on Twitter, it was a really enjoyable movie that had me cheering for the characters and laughing so much! It wasn't something I was dying to watch (umm.. Ant-Man? Really? "Is it too late to change the name?"), but I'm glad I did! It was exactly my kind of super hero film (I daresay I enjoyed it more than the latest Avengers) and comedy (my humor isn't your usual). But really, aside from the story and overall niceness of Ant-Man, we really have to talk about Paul Rudd. This guy ages really well! I had to wait until the end to confirm it was him (told ya I wasn't really looking forward to this film, haha!). Upon seeing the credits flash his name, the wheels in my head started turning - blog post! So I present to you, in my opinion, the best Paul Rudd roles, aka: the top 3 times he made me swoon over his characters.
Since I've been raving about it in the previous paragraph, I might as well start with Scott Lang. A hero even before Hank Pym's intervention, Scott's the quintessential good guy who had a few troubles here and there. He's smart and funny and a greatbod dad. For a more detailed background (aka: spoiler) on who he is, check out this WHIH Exclusive Interview with Scott Lang.
Come on, which 90's girl wasn't majorly, totally, butt crazy in love with Cher's ex-stepbrother Josh?! He dresses funny, he listens to whiny rock, and he's "not conventionally cute". He's the ultimate nice guy who got out of the friend zone (bro zone?).
Probably my favorite, FAVORITE Paul Rudd character, Mr. Phoebe Buffay, Crap Bag himself. I mean, what a love story! Joey, forgetting your double date, goes to Central Perk and randomly screams out "Mike" then voila, seasons later and you're married. I like the "lightness" of his and Phoebe's relationship. They're very playful and almost kid-like, but also mature enough to stand up to and for each other. Awwww!
What about you? Any favorite Paul Rudd roles? Or better yet, are there any actors/actresses who ended up playing a couple of your most favorite fictional roles ever? Let me know in the comments below!
