JUST SAY YES

{Giordano denim shirt, topshop tank, people are people shorts}

YOLO is the motto. Long before Drake, sayings with the same sentiment have already proliferated pop culture. Dead Poets Society's carpe diem, Yes Man's (duh) YES, Nike's just do it, and my personal favorite, Rent's no day but today. Seizing the moment and living life to the fullest (or fool-est?) has always been encouraged. For people who have a tendency to overthink and overanalyze every single detail *points to self*, these cliches provide the perfect excuse, a momentary suspension of judgement and just go with whatever. Back in Bialystok, majority of Iuliia and I's crazy adventures officially began when quotes from the Holstee Manifesto were dropped. Do what you love and do it often. One life. Once these words were uttered, there was no turning back. I mean after all, we were in Poland to encourage and motivate the students to live the life they've always wanted - we wouldn't want to be hypocrites, would we? It promotes a somewhat hedonistic way of living life, but Gio pointed out an opposing view - you have one life, don't screw it up.  For someone like me though, I've always charged things to experience. I mean, I will wallow over it for some time (cognitive dissonance, anyone?) and I probably would not know how to react and be all awkward the next time I face the same situation but the eternal optimist in me doesn't acknowledge the gravity of this screw up in the assumption that everything would all eventually work out in the end. I just think that not screwing up at all is a major screw up in itself since you don't ever grow or learn or branch out. And again I use my overquoted Beatles lyrics: there's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. But that's just me coz I've always been amazed at how things always fall in place (even if it sucks that what I originally wanted became collateral damage). So eff it, let's YOLO and just say yes - keri lang yan ;)

Speaking of things falling in place and just saying yes (what a segue hahaha), I got to watch Snow Patrol live a couple of weeks ago!!! My friends and I were planning on going and taking advantage of the discount if you get 3 but up until lunch time of the day of the concert, we still had no concrete plan. I just literally stepped out of the office when Nicole called and said they had an extra ticket. And wow. Snow Patrol blew me away! Their albums don't do their songs justice, seriously!!! Gary Lightbody has got to be one of the most impressive singers I've ever listened to.

if you were here beside me, instead of in new york  the way he sang it had the same effect on me as the last scene of Wicker Park - gusto ko na lang umiyak and hug everyone and tell them everything's gonna be okay hahaha

Nicole and Ate Anna

I SUPER LOVE THIS GIRL!!!

and I now SUPER love this band too! HAHA  Snow Patrol appreciation has multiplied exponentially that night!

And since we're on the subject of love, thank you so much to Giordano for the perfect concert-in-a-field cover up.♥ It's denim so it counters possible evening chills and drizzles but it's light enough so it's useable in such a hot place like Singapore. My outfit choices have been more laidback lately and this top would probably best describe how it has been - relaxed yet functional. Hmm.. I should post more outfit shots if I want this to continue being called a style blog coz recently I've just been babbling things that I'd normally write on futureme letters. ANYWAY, make sure to visit Giordano and check out their latest offering of classic closet staples. I strongly recommend the Mega Mall branch as the staff there is really nice and accommodating. ;) Follow them on Twitter and Facebook too!
