LOOKING BACK ON 2015

First off, major EEP! It's the last day of 2015! The year went by so fast! Sure there were days that were painfully slo-o-o-ow, but damn, I need to get used to time going so quickly. Looking back, 2015 was the year I chased my passions. It was when I actively chose to "live the dream". Instead of just dreaming my big dreams, I lived it out, even if it was in smaller portions. My life goals are to travel the world, to affect people with my art(e) - writing, and to make a positive difference in the world - all while living in cities I adore with the people that I love. Just thinking about it gets me so excited!! But sometimes, when I see how far I am from my target is, I get paralyzed because of the overwhelming fact that there is still SO.MUCH.TO.DO.! Take making a difference for instance. For the longest time, I believed that you need to be in the frontline of service to make a concrete impact in the world, hence, my hazy goal of working for the United Nations (as what, I didn't have an exact idea). Looking at where I am right now (logistics), it seems totes far off to do that. This year though, I finally took action in making *that* difference. I know in time, I would love to go out there and do more but while I'm not at the moment, I'm pretty sure my little help is making a difference and that makes me feel so much better than knowing that I'm far off and not doing anything about it.

2015 pushed me to be bold. It taught me to take risks, to be courageous in telling the world what I want without shame nor embarrassment, and to say yes to challenges outside my comfort zone. 2015 reminded me to stop worrying so much about what people think - fuck it - you can't and will never please everybody. Might as well live the life that would make me have no regrets when I'm old and grey. It taught me that working on your dreams sometimes doesn't equate to doing exactly what you want, but growing the skills necessary for it - and losing the ones that don't. It was a reminder that HARD WORK, more than a great idea will get you places. To not slack off even if it's easier and more comfortable doing so.

Best of all, the taste 2015 gave me of what it's like to be the "me" I've always wanted to be inspired and is inspiring me to do more and be more. I am so ready to take that fire with me to 2016 and beyond.

Happy New Year, everyone!
