PLANE SPOTTING
{plf cover up, topshop tank, forever 21 skirt, sandals from bangkok}
I guess ultimately, planes for me represent infinite possibilities. Fresh starts, new adventures, heartwarming reunions, heck, even the latest technology just recently shipped from Apple. And who doesn't want a tangible reminder of these possibilities coming to life? It's like what David said in Love Actually: "Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there." Change Love to Possibility and that's exactly how I feel about airports and airplanes in general. Although if you're looking for something ala Love Actually, the arrivals in Manila would suit you better. :p
One of the random things I am completely fascinated about by Singapore is the Changi Airport. Next to NAIA, it was the first airport whose proper name I learned (2005). I was in transit to Bangkok with my mom and I was so amazed by how huge the airport was and how there were free wifi stations. 9 years and several airports after, Changi still tops my list. You might find this weird but every time I go there to travel, pick someone up, or just hang and eat, I still get really kilig/excited at how the airport I used to crush on has become so accessible and is a big part of my daily life -- even if it's the non-glamorous cargo side. I mean come onnnn, how awesome is it to see airplanes take off and land on a daily basis?! (Yes, I'm a kid.)
